Roll Your Shoulders

Roll Your Shoulders, is a form of movement therapy, it teaches the importance of movement, as well as how easy it can be.

Roll Your Shoulders - In Your Workplace

There's more to good posture than having an ergonomic assessment at work. It is knowing how to move, and why it is important. A wellness initiative in your workplace.

Easy, simple movements

Good posture is misunderstood, and because of this, bad posture becomes the go-to status, "my posture is bad". It is highly unlikely to be bad, it probably needs more movement in your shoulders and spine, and this doesn't mean doing stretches or exercises, it means doing easy, simple movements. One of the easiest and effective movements to do is rolling your shoulders, it takes 5 sesonds, it will move your shoulders, ribs and spine.

Roll Your Shoulders is an extension of Get Strong physiotherapy, it is a movement session done online.

How it works

Book an online session. Choose a date and time that works for your company.
1. 30 minutes of movement; posture education, and myth-busting.
2. 5 minute discussion on what posture is, what is good and bad posture.
3. 20 minutes of movement done at your desk, some will be done standing and some using the floor.
4. 5 minutes of questions on pain, discomfort, movement and posture.

It is as simple as that, I teach movements that don't need to be taught, anyone can find a movement that feels freeing. Movements that take five seconds to do. The main barrier to movement in the workplace and in adult life is knowing how to move; and the movement taboo culture. Once you know how to move, movement will feel less awkward and become more natural.

Why?

Designed specifically to support your neck, shoulders, and lower back when your working environment limits your freedom of movement. As a physiotherapist and osteopath, I know firsthand how long desk hours take a toll on the body; this approach is crafted to prevent the built-up stiffness and structural stress caused by prolonged sitting.
