Get Strong yoga is a 45 minute vinyasa flow yoga class that consists of 30 minutes of strengthening, 10 minutes of stretching and 5 minutes of relaxation. There is no competition, no judgement, just a sense of wellbeing and camaraderie. You don't need to be a yogi to do yoga.

If you are looking for a yoga class that is not intimidating, gets you moving and doesn't take up a lot of your time, then this is the yoga class for you. We are lucky to have so many options of yoga classes in and around the Kew and Richmond area, this class is a bit different in that it is 45 minutes long and it will challenge you, in a nice but sweaty way.

Many of the exercises we prescribe during our physiotherapy and osteopathy treatments are based on yoga. One thing that is often said when yoga is recommended to patients is, "I'm not flexible enough", we say you don't need to be flexible you need to Get Strong. We really recommend Get Strong Yoga for everyone including; runners, cyclists, men, women, deskworkers, rugby players and as we have said before the ‘non-flexible’.

The yoga poses are done on the mat, holding your own body weight and moving from one posture to the next all whilst connecting with your breathing. We recommend it because it gets you strong from your big toes to the muscles in your neck. You do not need to be flexible to do it. Movement, flexibility and strength will come, but at no point do you need to be good at any of these. The aim of yoga is the journey of movement not the destination of being flexible.

Our yoga class testimonials

I started off going to Claire about my back and she made such a difference to the pain and discomfort I was feeling. I then started with a friend to do the Get Strong Yoga classes on a Thursday and from someone who was rather intimidated by most yoga studios I fell in love with this one. The teachers are all super nice and make you feel very welcome and the space it’s held in it’s so relaxing. The yoga combined with Osteo has given me such insight in to my body and encouraged me to get back horse riding which is something I’m so passionate about! That is all thanks to Claire and the team at Get Strong!

Yoga Class booked through Get Strong Physiotherapy & Osteopathy: This is a lovely class held in a small, light, studio with huge windows looking out onto a garden …. the perfect setting for a relaxing yet challenging yoga class. The teacher, Kate, is excellent – she is clearly very knowledgeable and has a kind, supportive, teaching style. She also manages to create a programme that is well balanced and somehow manages to appeal to both enthusiastic novices (like myself) and to the more experienced yoga students. It’s also worth noting that it is very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
